I'm curious how this active anchoring is going to work.

In a stiff wind, my 8' PP won't hold my boat, regardless of how much "downforce" my hydraulic pump applies. This seems like a non-existent solution.

Offshore bait would be best caught on your own.

Sabiki up pinfish on the flats, or go offshore and look for schools of bait and sabiki them up en masse.

Another option is the Shell Island Fish Camp, they are busy as well, but worth a shot for a simple repair.

WM has a great Ugly Stik combo for about $40 that will be a start rod/reel. I'd really suggest you use 15# braid though, especially for casting further in the surf.

There are plenty of aftermarket seat options that will be a huge improvement, and also the padded shorts will help a LOT.
There are mountain biking shorts that are padded, so you're not wearing spandex, and look normal.
