Re: Apache Case Sale @ Harbor Freight

I have 3 of the 4800's and a gun case. They are nice! Only complaint I have is the top foam that fits in the lid is not "glued" in. On the 4800's it falls down every time ya open them. I've tried every option I can think of but nothing will stick to the foam?? Have you tried the headliner...

A lot of smaller mullet. Not many of the big black ones in there. Gin clear water made tougher work. Got 28.between me and BIL.

Re: anybody fishing freshwater?

I like to throw a net from the bank and maybe even wade a little. Does anyone have recommendations on tidal creeks like Hickory Mound or the surrounding area?
Taylor/Dixie County would be most convenient.

Re: Yeti type coolers

Take the family on a vacation to Smokey Mountains. Go to Coleman outlet and buy Coleman Xtreme 50qt for $30. Loaded with ice it weighs about the same as empty Yeti/RTIC. Probably not a great casting platform, but just as good of a cooler.

Re: BP and Cabela's branded equipment

I’ve fished numerous Mitchell Avocets. I love them for the money, but primarily use them in freshwater on bass less than 3-4 pounds. Very smooth. But they are not going to give the same service as a shimano. Of course, I can buy five of them for same price. A buddy of mine “splurged” and bought the ...

Re: BP and Cabela's branded equipment

While my findings would not be admissible in court, BPS fishing reels are made by a Korean company called DOYO. DOYO makes reels for many other manufactures including Lews and Pure Fishing (owns Mitchell, Abu, and a whole bunch more). So while Abu doesn't make BPS, you should be able to see similari...

Re: Pick up your plastic worms!

Probably 10 years ago or better, I missed a bass in the Suwannee. Pulled my worm. I kept drifting and probably 200-250 yards downstream, caught a bass. Took it home and cleaned it and it had the worm that I had lost inside it. I’m still amazed that fish covered that much distance that quickly.

Re: Anybody seeing any mullet?

Original plan was to take my birthday money and buy a new cast net (yes, I’m 43 and still get b-day money.... don’t judge). This mullet conundrum still has me scratching my head.

Absolute best I had was an Omega 191 by Zebco.
Bought a Shakespeare Synergy Ti some years ago. Surprised at the good quality.

Re: St. George Island Pier Fishing

Drummer, how far down the pier did you go? In talking with the locals, they informed me that the channel is actually where the portion of the prier has been replaced. Said most people walk all the way to the end, when in reality, you're better off closer in.
