Re: Too Fast, Too Furious - St. Marks Drift (Oct. 6th)

Yep, had the sock out. Strong wind + tide = fast ride! Thanks for the report. A drift sock or sea anchor is invaluable when it's windy like it has been. I rigged one like this with a dock line with eye splice. Thread the splice through the bow cleat and it really slows the drift so you can keep bait...

Too Fast, Too Furious - St. Marks Drift (Oct. 6th)

You gotta love the strong eastern wind that made drifting wayyy fast for most of the day. However it wasn't too bad staying in shoreline to get to points Stoney Bayou and beyond. Stayed up in Stoney for some relief from the wind for the first part of the day. The grass wasn't too bad and water clari...

Re: Lighthouse Report

Must have been the same one that tailed one of my keeper trouts on Saturday while reeling it in. #myFish

Re: St. Marks 9/28 - The Grind

Very nice. Yes, opposite tides as we fished the incoming through the beginning of outgoing while up in the mouth area of Stoney before it got too late. Worked the bends then with the current moving to no avail. Found reds to 23.5" in tidal creeks east of the lighthouse today, but probably on op...

St. Marks 9/28 - The Grind

What started out as a clear win for the pinfish (need to reload 4in plastics) ended up with dinner on the table. Things were hit and miss all day with no real pattern were fish were holding east of the the Rock Garden. Things seemed to die off past high tide. Got the last cast in around 6:30pm. Coul...

Very good.

Visibility was definitely better on that side
Visibility was definitely good and pretty much saw all bottom where we were. We saw a few other reds swimming around but no bonanza.

St Marks Trip - Sunday, 15th

The wind & floating grass made things tough, especially in the AM but the trip ended up productive on the incoming tide midday when the wind died down a bit. Landed 2 reds, 29" & 28" and 3 keeper trout, all in 3-5ft of water in the eastern flats drifting. Both top-water, when absen...
