Re: St Marks 10/23
Refuge was active yesterday - water was clear and cool, but not cold. Picked up 26 trout, most 16" - 18", with two overslots at 21" and 23". Added a flounder and a few short reds. Olive over white clouser with minimal flash seemed to work best. Good for you, sounds like you had ...

Re: Lighthouse ramp
I think it’s 6 am. Should be able to with that rig. We launch our KW 1520 there with that kind of tide. The left ramp is a little better at low tides.

Re: Airboats in the St. Marks Refuge.
What I don’t get, is that they run the same water the rest of us navigate. What’s the point? I always thought they were made for gliding through the marsh… maybe I’m missing something..

Re: Missing Boater Located on St. Vincent Island
Glad he was safe. I came across an overturned boat Wed. off of Shell Pt. Phoned sheriff’s office and it had already been notified and forwarded to FWC. Looked liked the hull was recovered later by SeaTow. Saw a story from Tampa where CG rescued fisherman when a really nice skiff got swamped after an...

St Marks 10/23
Water clarity continues to be less than ideal. As well as floating grass. We started out deeper and I got one Spanish but things were slow so we went shallow and drifted towards creek mouth. Ran into schools of reds with tails out. Did manage an over slot fatty. We put a couple into cooler. Son also...

Re: St Marks NWR - 02 May 2021
Yeah, a little windy. We went up a creek east of SM. I only managed a 24 red on a Borski slider. Son got a better red, a nice 18 flounder and a couple throwback trout on jigs. We scadadled and beat the rain late afternoon, so didn't get to fish the outgoing. We had got caught in the storm two weeks ...

The Lighthouse Special Clouser, attributed to Terrier who posts here, is olive over chartreuse, over white, with some gold flash.

Re: Pompano
Have caught one pomp on fly each of the last two weekends, one keeper and one not quite at SGI. Both on clousers, one electric chicken and one on Lighthouse Special, both tied on #4 hooks. Lots of Lady's and spanish around plus others. Of course have had a number of ? fish that broke me off. Never k...

Terrier,
SGI. Also, we caught spanish, lady's, and blue runners. Other species were around, but no love on those. Never know what you'll pull around there.

Re: Fish bit someone at St marks sandbar
Are y’all catching the puffers on live bait? We’ve been fishing the refuge every weekend since March ( too windy to get offshore) and haven’t caught a single one. Plenty of reds and trout, but no trash fish. I can't get out if the damn things. They've destroyed a bunch of tackle and a net for me. S...

Re: St Marks NWR - 02 May 2021
Sounds like a great day with lots of pull backs. Son and I went east of lighthouse yesterday and fished some deeper water with limited success and then went creek fishing. I only managed a trout for the box on a lighthouse special, but he did well on reds up to 30" and others on spinning gear.
