Does your boat have a name?

I know it's said to be bad luck, but I just changed my boat's name:

Re: Another one that got away

Thanks for the report Rick. Glad you got out. Your mystery fish sounds like a big jewfish or nurse shark, but could have been anything. Record gag maybe. Spanish looks like a king to me also, smoke him up. This is an old thread on the subject https://www.bigbendfishing.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=29...

Re: Another one that got away

I'm no expert so it could have been a small king but he had the yellow spots like a Spanish does so I just assumed. The water offshore was beautiful but inshore still looked like strong coffee, only managed two short trout.

Another one that got away

I seldom go offshore but did yesterday. Hung something I couldn't turn but wanted to see what it was and take a picture of it. I fought that thing and chased it for over an hour and had not gained much on it so tightened the drag and of course he broke the 50# mono. What ever he was, he was slow and...

Thanks Bob Bitters That link is close to 20 years old and I don't think it's still a valid link. Try posting in the NFGFC section: https://www.bigbendfi...

If you're willing to drive 80 - 100 miles, you could call these guys. I've dealt with both for many years. Both are honest / reliable and carry a lot of used parts:

Re: Power-Pole Micro Anchor

What size skiff? I had a Micro on my Gheenoe LT25 and it worked fantastic. I have an 8' Sportsman on my 18' Action Craft it it works fantastic. Capt. Dave had a Micro one on his Bevertail skiff and it's didn't work nearly as well. He had water intrusion problems and had to send it back several time...

Re: Power-Pole Micro Anchor

The Power Pole site has a lot of information. https://power-pole.com/micro under the specifications tab it says the mounting footprint is 5 inches wide and 6 inches tall. There are mounting instructions under the manuals tab that might be helpful also. Thank you! I had read the info on the Power Po...

Power-Pole Micro Anchor

Thinking about adding a Micro Anchor to my skiff but I'm not sure it will fit since the skiff has trim tabs and a gunnel rail that may or may not be in the way. Has anyone got a Power-Pole Micro Anchor installed using the adjustable mounting base? I don't want to order the system until I know for su...

Re: This could be you...with a PLB.

So for those of you who have researched such things - What brand / model seems to be a good buy for the money? . I run a 20 foot SeaArk and to be honest, most of the time I could walk back to shore from the creek or near-shore flat that I am fishing. I I can normally see land wherever I'm fishing b...
