Re: Graduation fishing
We always have fun, its a pity since Wayne is friends with me but he is my father in laws best friend and my father in law refuses to fish with us even though he talks about fishing all the time. I've been dying to fish anyway, haven't gotten to fish the flats since May. The gear is replaceable, the...

Re: Graduation fishing
Definitely, my wife can make it up to me with a lowrider salt rod, she bought me a lowrider last year for Christmas but it was a freshwater one. I hate the loss of the coastal zillion, those are hard to come by.

Re: Graduation fishing
The lipping was just for pictures, I normally grab them behind the head. The scalloping trip before we lost a cooler, my homemade stickit pin anchor, and the dive flag so I have been on a roll this month.

On August the 7th I completed my PhD and finished my research at the University of Ga, what better to do to to celebrate than go fishing, right? So on the 8th my retired fishing buddy Wayne made the trek from north Ga to pick me and the boat up in Wilcox Co. Our destination was Steinhatchee by way o...

Re: Labor Day weekend scalloping/fishing?
If you have Android, I'd also download marine navigator. I used it before I got my current helix 7 and its nice since it doesnt require cell service, you just download the RNC map for your area and its good to go. The free version just won't let you load preprogrammed tracks.

Re: Taylor County Parking Permits
According to seahag its a done deal, I think its ridiculous. I use the Dixie co ramp anyway, but it makes no sense for someone who rarely goes to need a year pass.

I would, but it would be much more limited. I enjoy it too much, though my career path is not helping at the moment.

Re: Whats happened to trout fishing?
The redfish in restaurants are farm raised and actually raised in fresh water. Commercial sea trout harvest is an Atlantic thing and isn't that large, its mainly focused in North Carolina.
Re: Kast King
I wouldn't waste the money on it, but it is better than the pisifun braid. You can get 550 yds of daiwa j braid for $25, its much better.
