Re: Spring Creek 12-22-2020

Sounds like a fun day! Did you happen to notice the water temp? I'm thinking about going that direction this weekend.

Re: St. Marks River

I was out to the west of that area Saturday and only hooked 1 flounder. He even escaped the hook before getting in the boat. The water was about 58 degrees and we fished from 3' to 12' of water.

I'm going to start doing more of that now that I know my boat will float in 9" of water!

Salty Gator wrote: December 9th, 2020, 9:41 amThere are several forum members that can, and do access those creeks at low tide that aren’t in airboats
What type of boat are you using to get up in there?

Re: First Time Fishing Low Tide in Winter - Learning Occurred

I figured out recently that the direction of wind has a lot to do with the tide as well. I tried launching from the Lighthouse ramp a few weeks ago and couldn't push the boat off the trailer. Luckily there was another boat unloading next to me with the same problem and we joined forces to get both o...

Congratulations! Two in one hunt is not very common and even more rare to take a stud like that!

What are you feeding those deer?

Re: Fishing this weekend Nov 21 -22 near St marks

IF you run 7 miles East of the lighthouse and "go North" you better have the right boat and/or good insurance. ;-) Yeah, I've been around that area and always fear going towards shore. I marked a rock on the GPS several years ago while scalloping, but there are hundreds more and I heard t...

Re: Fishing this weekend Nov 21 -22 near St marks

Or you could wade the area on a blown out low tide...but that trip starts with a 45 minute mountain bike ride (one-way) on levees/FL Hiking Trail. The tide was pretty blown out Saturday morning. I put in at the lighthouse at 11:30 and in another 15 minutes the boat wouldn't have come off the traile...

Found it! Strange that Navionics and the Coast Survey chart don't have it labeled. I'll try that area next time, I've heard other reports of fish near there.

Just digging up an old post here. I found this post while doing some research on the Wakulla Beach Hotel. I also found another site with several key dates in Wakulla's history.

I haven't found redfish point on the chart yet. Are there any other landmarks you can give to help my search?

Re: Fishing this weekend Nov 21 -22 near St marks

Thanks for the info! We caught 4 keeper trout Saturday, one on the first cast before low tide and 3 more as the tide was running in. I explored some areas new to me from Big Pass to Johns Island. I will be back in that area soon to explore more.

Fishing this weekend Nov 21 -22 near St marks

I need some expert advise about fishing this weekend (Nov 21 - 22). I have struck out for the past several months only to hear that others have been successful in other areas. I have spent the last few trips in the East river near the lighthouse thinking the colder water would hold fish there only t...
