Re: Today's FWC Seatrout Ruling
Scary to ponder how many thousands of clustered little trout are going to get yanked out of deep holes in the St Marks River during February.

Thanks, Brian, that is! Speaking of consistency, you had yourself a great season. Well done.

Re: Yet Another Weekend Wadefishing Harmonic Convergence
Thanks, Steve. Got the $ delivered to me at track practice; much appreciated! Could not believe the massive shape of Pat's 8lb red. What a brute. Ditto Rick's 5lb+ trout. Nice going, guys, and congrats to Jeff & Chuck on ANOTHER sidepot win, and great consistency for the year. Gotta be impressed...

Re: Yet Another Weekend Wadefishing Harmonic Convergence
Whoops...I meant red & trout combo weight in previous post, in case FWC was reading. Only ONE red!

Re: Yet Another Weekend Wadefishing Harmonic Convergence
Steve, Different protocol, but I got a break. My reds didn't have the weight to win (they only awarded for first), but the seven spots on the red earned $100 from the ever-gracious Otto. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Thanks again for allowing me to crank through weigh-in. I couldn't s...

Yet Another Weekend Wadefishing Harmonic Convergence
Friday morning, the forecast is for negative low tides and up to 20 knot north winds early. This is the time to learn what the holes look like in creeks east & west of the lighthouse. Put on your mucklucks & a warm jacket, and you might have a rewarding hike. Amazing what you can find out on...

Re: NFGFC Rockys Tournament Results
Tom, I'm guessing Chuck & Jeff had #2 trout, but you need to verify. We both had 24" trout I think, but mine had no belly, was a bit over 4lbs. I had to leave early to weigh in for the FSU tourney...which gives me a chance to say THANK YOU Steve Stinson, Steve Taylor, and everybody else inv...

Re: Nov NFGFC Roll Call ROCKY's
Glad you guys got some action, Dave. That spot has saved the day for me before. Hope the east wind made for an easy trek back.
If I do the tourny, I'll be paddling. Tide will be rising Saturday morning.

Will registration be accepted at the meeting Thursday for those not fishing near Perry? (Apologies if this question was already addressed & I missed it!)

Re: Perfect Refuge Wadefishing conditions Saturday
Apparently the trout were exluded from a Gulf Coast 23" redfish convention that was held the length of Stoney Bayou. The reds - all precisely the same size - hit everything I threw nonstop all afternoon, but nary a trout showed up!

Re: Perfect Refuge Wadefishing conditions Saturday
This is actually a pretty safe time. Cooler temps have slowed the gators way down. They were just snoozing in the sun on the banks of Stoney Bayou yesterday. Hooked some nice reds right in front of their noses, and they didn't even bother to chase them back to me. During the summer, as soon as you h...

Re: Perfect Refuge Wadefishing conditions Saturday
Brian, I'm heavy into cross-country season with my kids, with two races next weekend. If I can get assistant coaches to cover, will try to out there for the tourney. Have only used my luvly 21lb Kevlar canoe three times since getting it, and the tides look nice for paddling & portaging next Satu...

Perfect Refuge Wadefishing conditions Saturday
North winds to 20 knots, mid-day negative low tides. Rare opportunity to wade fish Stoney Bayou all 2+ miles from the levee to the mouth, and scout holes. I'm starting at 10am, if anybody wants to join the fun and isn't afraid of a little mud.
Okay...a good bit of mud. But worth the work.
