Another Name that Fish

We caught this on the east flats today and could help identifying it. My guess is juvenile Cobia my friend says no way. Thank you in advance.

St. Marks Lighthouse East Flats 5/26

The clarity of the water was amazing today which allowed a perfect view of the seagrass/bottom up to a 6 to 8 foot depth. There was a good bit of floating seagrass during the afternoon high tide, no storms lately not sure where it all came from. Fishing not so great but we did land a three Speckled ...

Re: Fish bit someone at St marks sandbar

I've caught three Smooth Puffers this spring - this is bad but I just cut the line with the last two - I don't want to leave tackle out there but on the other hand no way I want to come close to touching those things!

Re: Don't get gas at the sunoco in Woodville for awhile

The bad gas is a shame, I'd be very unhappy and I'm sure that is the last thing the business wanted.

Let me take a moment to ask - where is a good location to purchase non-eth along the Woodville Highway route? I'm up here in northern Leon and like to gas up on the way back home.

Thanks.

What's Going on at Lake Iamonia?

There must have been 35 boat trailers at the Bull Headley ramp this afternoon. Was there a tournament or club event of some kind? I mean, I launch there for a freshwater run every month or so and have never seen anywhere near crowd as today.

We were fishing from my baby Whaler on east flats not far from the spoil area. Ran out just past the stakeline for a while and got nothing.

Re: Super Full Moon this Week

Today was one of my best days fishing in a long time: netted 4 good sized Mullet, caught 8 keeper Sea Trout plus a few Catfish, a big Stingray and a Smooth Puffer. The rising tide during late morning was really moving. I'm not a good fisherman so someone with real skills might have cleaned up.

Filming goof ups at boat ramps in Miami and then posting them on youtube for laughs seems like a good way to get beaten up.

Re: Need Help Identifying a Fish

Thank you so much - after looking at some images I'm sure it was a Smooth Pufferfish. Never seen one before - it's front end was thick as a brick with big eyes. Not much of a fight.
