St Marks 6/22 and 6/23

Spent the weekend fishing St Marks and sweating. I was surprised at how rough it was. Friday, the wife, son and I managed 10 keepers and very few shorts. One 22 incher caught by my son. Took us from daylight to about 2:30 to manage those. A few under corks but most were caught fishing Z-Man swimmers...

Love it.
My son is 15 and still loves to fish. When we start fishing deep and go to Z-Mans on jig heads he wears me out but I love seeing it.

Got sprayed a little bit coming and going but it wasn't as bad as I thought. I love fishing those kinds of days.

St Marks 4/15 and 4/16

Great couple of days fishing out of St Marks. Good trout are all over the place right now in 3 to five feet of water. Fished East Flats and West flats with live shrimp and caught very few small fish. Find good thick grass and they are there. By they way, couldn't get them to bite a gulp right now bu...

Re: GPS Suggestions (hopefully)

I was about to say the same thing about apps. Unless you have a completely uninterrupted signal you will be frustrated. Go old-school with pre-loaded maps like a garmin.

Re: Video of Topwater Frog Hits

My son and I were fishing frogs in pads a few years ago. He was probably 12 at the time. I noticed his hookup ratio was much better than mine. I started watching him and noticed that he was only partially paying attention during the retrieve. Finally occurred to me that his lack of attention was all...

Re: Garmin Acquires Navionics

So, this more than likely means a very large price increase on Navionics charts. Love their product and have never been a huge fan of Garmin. I'm sure this a Ford vs Chevy type of thing though.
