Help with Pit Boss Pellet Grill
So yesterday, while at Lowe's to get $8.44 worth of plumbing fittings for a repair, I had to walk through the grill display area, and there was a damaged (VERY minor dent in the pellet hopper door that won't hurt anything) PitBoss 1100 pellet grill sitting there marked $299. These grills are normall...

Shell Point / St. Marks 3/26-3/29 Fishing
Came down to Shell Point 3/26 for a few days of fishing. Fished the outside edge of Goose Creek Bay the 26th, the wind was out of the SSW, water temp about 69-70, and stained. Probably caught 30 trout total with 9 being keepers, all in about 4 feet of water. All caught on 1/4 ounce jig head and gulp...

Re: what to do with Styrofoam coolers?
Yep, I got in trouble more than once for doing this as a kid! Good times with grandpa's Lo-Boy styrofoam fish coolers!MudDucker wrote:Pour a little gas on them and before they dissolve, light them up. They make a neat light show.

Thanks for the report! We will be down the 26th for a few days. Going to attempt a few pompano from a boat... never tried it this way. Has anyone else?

Re: Purchase Power
As a lost out of town fisherman several years ago, I had a fairly long conversation with Mr. Crum in his store (didn't know who he was at the time) before daylight one morning while heading to the water. He was, and still is, very friendly to me, and I believe that one conversation saved my fishing ...

Re: St Marks boat accident
If you grew up fishing bass tournaments, you learned to leave your life jacket hooked to your kill switch and lay it in your driver's seat when you got up to fish. Not wearing the life jacket when the gas motor was running would quickly get you disqualified back then. It's a habit that's stuck with...

Re: Lake side Tuesday
That's a pretty place! My grandfather and another contractor rebuilt the campsites there for the state when I was a kid. I got to spend all summer there. (and there were a LOT of largemouth in the lake then...made for some fun times!)

Re: St Marks boat accident
This is tragic for sure, Prayers for the family. ... I used to sometimes wear my kill switch, and sometimes not. I had it on at work this day, and I'm glad I did now. It was the last thing I thought of before I entered the water. I wear an engine kill lanyard EVERY time the boat is running now. (Vid...

That's what I heard too (about the trailer)... The restaurant was not open the day I was there.MudDucker wrote:Owner's sister told us that he was not reopening. Instead, they now have a food trailer only.
Re: Pompano
I'm really hoping they turn on by the end of March this time with the warmer water temps... Have a fishing trip planned then. On a side note, how hard is it to catch them from a boat instead of the beach? Around Dog Island/SGI area? (I have never specifically targeted them, but have a friend coming ...

Re: Spring Creek Boat Ramp
We were down a couple weeks ago, and my wife wanted to go look at the Spring Creek Restaurant... I pulled through the boat ramp while there, and there was a guy launching a boat at it (I don't know if he was one of the owners or general public.) I didn't see any "closed" signs or anything,...

Re: shell island st marks
Shell Island Fish Camp? The ramp is tight, and on low tides, just about impossible to launch. However, it does work. They do usually have shrimp, and a decent little tackle store. They always have ice, $2 for a 5 gallon bucket. Ethanol free gas as well at a fair price. Friendly people, they don't h...

Re: Inshore/River fishing: what am I doing wrong?
Has anyone tried the creek in between the 32 & 34 markers on St. Marks lately? Four Mile Creek I believe? I'm coming down to deliver a boat next weekend and will have a couple VERY limited times to fish while I'm down. I'll be in a 1860 jon boat this time. Any other location suggestions are welc...
