Re: Steinhatchee Memorial Day weekend

Either you are a really tiny person, or that is one more stud of a fish you are holding.

I'd probably start out heading south to pepperfish. It's just north of Horseshoe Beach. Tons of grass line and creeks.

Re: Prescription Sunglasses

FYI, these are HSA eligible. So if you have one, and some extra funds sitting in the account, that may be an option. Man that’s good to know. I turned 40 a few years back and have recently started wearing reading glasses. Do you know If bifocals are covered in the hsa? Please check behind me, but i...

Re: Best spinning reels for 2018

Pflueger reels have never held up for me, and Penn's will last but they don't seem to work as smoothly as the Shimano's. I have been wanting to try one of the new 13 Fishing reels without bearings in them. I am not sure if they have a bearing-less spinning reel or only the baitcaster. - Steve Stins...

Re: Trailer Assist

Keep a can of Sea Foam Deep Creep penetrating spray in your tool box. While it's entirely possible that the lug nuts will seize too much, this is the absolute best penetrating oil I have found. Could just make the difference. Advance will often run sales on Sea Foam products, sometime BOGO if I reme...

Re: Cape San Blas

Silly question: When you get something like a good cobia on the line in a yak, do you just let him pull you around the gulf, or do you try throwing an anchor? I ask because I recently picked up a budget yak to use this summer.

Re: New Google Satellite photos are up

I tried just attaching the photo, but couldn't. This is a link to an article about the Dispatch's sinking. Included is a photo taken from Light House dock, showing it on fire. Pretty cool.

Re: Inshore boat review?

So, for the $64 question of the day..... How far, realistically, can you take one of these aluminum boats out? Understanding you have to pick your days, would you ever try to get to the Steinhatchee Reef in one (I believe about 8 miles)?

If I had a rod like that, it'd be like when I bought my Browning rifle. Buddy said, "you'll enjoy hunting with that." I said, "this things too nice to take to the woods." :D

What is the unwritten code of the sea in regards to fishing close to someone else? I'm sure everyone's standard is different. Just curious.
