keaton scallop prospects
We are spending the weekend at Keaton to do some fishing and scalloping. I was wondering if anyone has had good success scalloping out of Keaton? Trailering over to Steinhatchee is not a bad option, so that's our backup plan. Other than the loading nightmare at the ramp, I'm much more comfortable wi...

Re: Catching Trout At Keaton 5/20 Video
Enjoyed your videos from KB. Just FYI so you don't run into problems, you may wish to watch the 'no wake zone'. I'm not sure how long you've been fishing KB, but before the hurricane the no wake zone ended after you made the turn around the fishing pier out into the channel markers. The hurricane to...

Keaton Beach 04/02/2017
Fished Keaton Beach on the 2nd with Breambuster, Breambuster Jr., and a visitor from the great state of MN. We were fishing out of Breambuster's boat, mine is laid up until I can pick up a new trailer :smt011 Our day started out fairly slowly with a lot of shorts and a few keepers thrown in. We got ...

Re: 16' Ghenoe, 6 HP Evinrude, and 65MX Minnkota trolling mo
My situation has changed since I first made the post and I'm now using the 'little boat'. About the only thing I want to get rid of right now is the gas motor, and no FRP, you indicated it wasn't what you were looking for

Re: Steinhatchee wetting a line. . . 2/4/17
A bit of a story about the tarpon pictures. The first one quickly broke the line after a jump or two. On the second BB grabbed his phone while Calvin fought the fish. He had a few tech difficulties and while there were several nice jumps and woops, we were left with two one second videos, one of my ...

Re: Steinhatchee wetting a line. . . 2/4/17
Good seeing you as well. We did manage 8 trout and one lost sheepshead. Highlight of the day were two tarpon hookups, one of which BB jr. Brought to the boat and quickly released. Most fish came at the turn of the low tide.

Keaton Beach Shrimp
Anyone used the shrimper at Keaton Beach lately to buy bait shrimp? I just wanted to make sure they were still active. Planning on heading down Saturday.

Keaton Beach 11/11
Took the opportunity Friday to fish Keaton Beach on Veterans day with my wife (actually she reads, I fish 8)). There were a lot of boats on the water enjoying the nice weather. We fished from around 9 to 1:30 and picked up a limit of trout (none I was all that proud of but they eat well) and a nice ...

Keaton Beach Oct. 1
Had a good day on the water at Keaton Beach Oct. 1. Fished with long time fishing friends Breambuster and buster Jr. We picked up a limit of sea trout and a limit of redfish. It's surprising how reducing the limit to 1 redfish each has instantly increased our catch rate  Water temps had droppe...
