Re: Lanark 1/13

Nole, Your timing was much better than mine. I launched at 9:15 and was greeted with clouds, chop, chilly temps and no viz. I gave up too early, loaded the boat and went to the state park instead. Wish now I'd stuck it out. Nice job as usual with the buggy whip and pix. Always enjoy reading your rep...

Re: BigBendFishing.Net Social 2008

Chalk, Tom, I'll have another batch of stuff from Salt Water Sportsman --clothing, calendars, mags, etc. to donate to this year's forum social raffle. Waiting on the shipment and then I'll make arrangements to get it all to you. Maybe one of these years you can pick a date that's not on the same wee...

Re: 9-10 Weight reel to match.

FP,
If you can't find something used in your price range, the Pflueger Medalist reels are a great choice for the money. Then if you decide to upgrade, it'll work as a back-up.

Re: Another Trout question

CB,
Trout are not closed in Feb. in the NW region due to spawning. That decision was made to curtail harvest for re-building stocks and the month was picked to minimize impact on guides/hotels, etc.

Re: Depth/fish finders

Lowrance makes a good line of smaller sounder/plotter units and there are plenty of Garmin fans on this forum as well. Both have their own charting software that does a good job of identifying the hazards, shoals and other navigation concerns. If mounting space is an issue, you might want to concent...

RD, I've been fishing the East Flats since 1992, so yes, I do remember the good old days fondly. Just because patterns aren't what they used to be doesn't mean we all shouldn't practice proper flats etiquette now. Sure, there are times when you can run at will. But buzzing the shoreline does eventua...

JT and some of the others here must make a lot more money than I do or have a bigger repair budget. There are a few serious rock piles just west of the mouth of Stoney that would love to eat lower units in water that I consider close to the shore (less than 25 yards in places). But the more skegs th...

Go ahead and run that shoreline, RB. Outboard mechanics have to eat, too.

Found some more drag washers for those Fin-Nor reels you got from me. If you'll send a PM with your address, I'll be glad to mail them to you. Hope the reels are producing lots of fish.
