Re: Late Post St. marks
With the severe negative tides and stiff winds this past weekend, it would have been difficult to get where I wanted to fish without scraping something on the bottom. Had I fished in "deeper" water, it would have been uncomfortable. I had a couple of projects around the house that needed t...

Re: Gag off Dog
Glad you were able to catch a good one. We all know that when NOAA forecasts 2-3 the dash should be a plus sign.

Re: Late Post St. marks
Those negative tides kept me on the hill this weekend, much to my disappointment. Glad you got out and were able to get some dinner.

Re: Bonefish in Apalachee Bay
After seeing Saltygator's post it got me thinking. Why couldn't bonefish migrate north from the Yucatan peninsula? They do live there as well as Central America. I Google searched bonefish range and habitat and found a map with reports all along the Texas Gulf coast and even more surprising, Long Is...

Re: Sidescan on the flats
In 4-5 feet of water you are probably only seeing about 2-3 feet on either side of the boat...maybe as much a 5 feet. I was convinced I needed side scan when I bought my last unit, only to realize that the water I usually fish is too shallow for it to be of any real use. It does however, shine in 10...

Bonefish in Apalachee Bay
On Halloween I went fishing with Captain Josh Luggi of Boomcoast Adventures. After hitting a few spots with moderate success he put me on a spot that had some hungry trout and redfish. A few casts and some healthy fish later, I cast into a "pocket", made a couple of hops with my soft plast...

Re: Hurricane Ian
Cranfield. It looks like we will not experience any devastating affects from Ian in our area. Unfortunately that can not be said about the majority of southwest and central Florida.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who are affected.

Re: Reminder about Australian Gold Sunscreen vs Flies
The last I heard about Sunsect was they were unable to financially recover from mismanagement. Their website is down and about a year ago my email enquiry went unanswered.
It was a great product and I wish it were still available.

Re: St Marks line
You are probably referring to "Long Bar". A variety of fish can be caught there, from Trout, Redfish and Spanish Mackerel to Ladyfish and Puffers. The bar runs Southwest from just off of the lighthouse to the channel marker. You will probably see other kayakers as well as some folks wading...
