Roseate Spoonbills

Has anyone been seeing Spoonbills in our area this summer? I was excited to see several feeding during low tide today today off of Bottoms Road (wish I were a better photographer)!

Re: NOAA's Port St. Joe tide times wrong?

Ed Ball got his way. Speaking of Ed Ball many years ago I toured his Southwood mansion southeast of Tallahassee where he had these huge mural paintings of half naked women being carried away on Arabian horseback. Very strange art collection. https://www.floridasmart.com/sites/default/files/articles/...

Re: First time, need some advice

My advice is to start slow, learn the different sides of Apalachee Bay then start venturing out to St. George Sound - the pass between Dog and St. George's Island, the St. Vincent dry bar, the Apalachicola distributaries and Lake Wimico are favorites. And stay away from the Rock Garden - I wrecked a...

Re: St. Marks River at Newport

What they say about the ramp times two, I would use the ramp at the old fort and enjoy more of the river.

Re: Lake Lafayette and Lake Jackson

This summer I've explored Lake Miccosukee, Lake Iamonia, Lake Talquin and Lake Seminole. I want to see more of Lake Seminole especially up Spring Creek and will try launching the boat in Chattahoochee to check out the upper Apalachicola. Lakes Lafayette and Jackson will have to wait for better condi...

Re: Dumb question time (Tucker Lake)

Chaires Creek has some deep cuts for sure, we wanted to see the Indian Mound Island but the last stretch to Tucker Lake too shallow for my boat. I was driven down to the lake one time but the swarm of mosquitoes was too much, worse mosquitos I have seen since one time in the inner bay at Cape Romano!

Free Bimini

Its old but the fabric, framework and straps are in decent shape. Fits 5.5' beam give or take. No mounting brackets. Blue. It would need to be picked up from near Bull Headley Road.

Re: Spring Creek info?

It's been a while but I've had good luck to the west of Smith Island (which is also a cool landing spot). If you launch from Spring Creek there is a back passage "short cut" you might enjoy. Good luck!

Re: Power-Pole Micro Anchor

I don't understand but this video review makes it sound like you need to thoroughly flush the inner hub area of the unit after use.

I've dreamed about a power-pole but the price scares me away. Actually it's my wife finding out that scares me.

Re: Looking for a new house where I can park my boat

As it turns out we received a courtesy notice this week from the Killearn Lakes HOA that our boat needs to be behind the house and not visible from the front yard street.
