Re: Flyfishing - Locally
Thanks for the report. Went Sat. only got three, 18 & 20 specks and a really fat 28" red. All on tutti frutti clouser, chartreuse over pink. Seems to be my best color along with black over orange used in dark water/day. Looking forward to winter fishing.

Re: 10/7
Love seeing a flyfishing post. I'll be down there in 3-4 weeks. Glad you had some action but I feel you re: wanting some nice trout and/or a red or two. Don't know if you watched the Apalachee report but Pat McGriff, wow does he know his stuff and IMO, some of the info translates to flyfishing. I'v...

Went again yesterday with the same results except a spec instead of a sand trout. Ladies and spanish, only difference being ladies were larger. Also, a beautiful afternoon.

For sure. Need to get some wire though, ran out awhile ago. Lose too much time replacing bite offs and frayed leader from the lady's.Terrier wrote:Nothing wrong with spanish!

Fished out of Shell Pt yesterday afternoon. Other than a bluefish and a sand trout, it was all spanish and ladies. Hit 6 spots. Water was dark imo. What a lovely afternoon on the water.

Re: St Marks weekend -- tough fishing
We went Sat. east of lighthouse. Since it was blowing , we fished mouth of a creek and the creek. Results were one gaftail on a spoon and one slightly over slot red on the fly (dark borski slider). Water was dark I thought. Saw only one mullet between us. No bait, no fish it seemed.

I'm also bringing an 8 wt fly rod. Can anyone recommend some flies and fly sizes? I would bring clousers, chartreuse over pink, chartreuse over white, black over orange, are my fav for the Big Bend. Also gurglers, crab and shrimp patterns also. I like crafty shrimp type and Borski slider. Some swea...

Try 1nm west of Grey Mare rock, go at low tide and you should find 'em! Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
If you are not familiar with that area, especially at low tide, you better watch for rocks and go slow....get's even worse east of there...
Must have been 100+ boats in that ...
