The problem is most likely the result of exposure to salt. I'd try any salt remover product that is designed to work on that. Once you get them working, chap stick or other similar product to keep them working. You might try contacting the manufacture to see if they have any suggestions. You folks o...

Very classy look... I like it. I would suggest a small brass plate with the date and possibly location. You'll be surprised how soon the details will become a bit foggy.
