Always intrigued at something with flaming armadillos in the title! The story sounds too good to be true!BillytheKid wrote:Am I the only one who is not intrigued about hearing the flaming armadillo story?

Re: Need some local advice for the ochlockonee bay area
Very good info! Check the Navionics chart viewer to get an idea of the bars and grass beds. I've heard of a lot of fish caught off the bank at Bald Point.

Re: Anchor Bag
Looks great! I have been trying to figure out how to store my anchor in something padded and this is a great idea.

Re: Water clarity
I was out near Grey Mare and Cobb Rocks Monday and you could see the bottom in 6-7' of water.
Re: Flares
I keep some in the truck for road emergencies. Or you could burn one in the yard to see how they work.

Re: ANYBODY Scalloped Out of Econfina This Summer?
Picked over around Grey Mare....how can that be. lol Obviously....... I'm no fan of 200 boat loads of scallopers between me and the boat ramp. :smt011 They were fairly plentiful earlier in the year, but didn't see 2 or 3 at the time. South east in deeper water I found 4 at one time. I've never been...

Re: ANYBODY Scalloped Out of Econfina This Summer?
They have been picked over around Grey Mare. I was seeing more further south east two weeks ago in about 6' of water at low tide. It's about the same distance from the lighthouse as it is from the Econfina river entrance.

Sounds like a great weekend! I have never looked for scallops near Ochlocknee Bay, glad to hear that they are plentiful there!

I forgot it was that far East. Haven't been there in years.Mckayaker wrote:No. Hickory mound is east of the Ecofina River. I measure twelve nautical miles from the center creek out from Hickory to Grey Mare. That’s one heck of a paddle.

Re: Anyone going out tomorrow, 8/9?
Sounds like a good day! I'm happy to bring home one keeper trout these days. Does Hickory Mound come out to the gulf at Deep Creek? If so it looks like a short paddle to Grey Mare.

He used Black Tip, and I got the extra pieces from him. I like it and it's been on my boat for almost a year now. Much better than carpet IMHO.Salty Gator wrote:Forum member BBB tricked his boat out nicely with a similar material I’m referencing. You could probably ask him what he used ......
Re: Safety
Is it illegal to pull a pull a person behind a boat in the channel or just not recommended? I know I would not do it, but unfortunately stupidity is not against the law.

Re: Record Boat Sales
I'm guessing 18-24 months, or sooner. Considering FL is the biggest boating market in the US, and highly dependent on tourism, and unemployment claims just spiked again last week. I guess I'll have to wait to find a good (cheap) used boat. The ones I see in my price range now need just as much work...
