Re: Careful Spearfishing with All this Freshwater
Just realized this post is from 2012, I was looking for the news story and wondering who the heck was spear fishing mullet in February. I feel dumb.

Re: Careful Spearfishing with All this Freshwater
Wow, glad your son wasn't hurt. I've had some close encounters with gators, but never had one get that close. Now I was in Okeechobee years ago wade fishing with my stringer following behind, when I felt something tugging on my stringer. At first thought it was the fish, but finally turned to see t...

Re: Careful Spearfishing with All this Freshwater
That is nuts, spearfishing those tidal creeks never really sounded safe to me. I’ve seen a bunch of gators in the salt and they are almost always big.

Re: What do you want to say to FWC
After thinking some more on it I want to be more adversarial to the the idea of closing seasons. I feel like that is the easy route because most people don’t fish Jan/Feb much if at all and even for the people that do you only have roughly half the days to fish because of the weather. Most of the bi...

Re: What do you want to say to FWC
Let me know if you need help silverking and I can send you a private message with location and lures used. Very nice gesture. Good folks on here. Lmao. I obviously would not like a closed harvest but I would support removing all fish over 20 from the bag limit, I already practice this myself and en...

Re: Best time to fish Steinhatchee this spring
Anytime of year can produce fish if you know where to look. I’d avoid end of July, August and early September. Honestly peak time is now if you catch the weather right. It’s just not as consistent, get two or three warm afternoons in a row and it’ll be on fire. April if you want consistency.

Daiwa BG. Best thing at that price point. Solid saltwater reels.

Re: Hull Wrap- Local?
I’m on the second wrap on my old boat in two years. They are okay, just be gentle docking. I’m sure your not going to use yours 4-5 times a week so it should last you a decent while.

Re: Monday afternoon St Marks river
Good question! I can see clumps of individual fish on the structure scan as well as some clusters and upside down vees on the fishfinder. Usually in the winter if I see this I can catch some trout. Do you have a way to be sure they're not just mullet? Don’t know, I barely turn on my depth finder an...

Re: Inshore/River fishing: what am I doing wrong?
Did anyone catch any keeper trout today or any trout at all?? Me and a buddy fished spring warrior today and the one and only bite was a 21in red at around lunch time and seemed like everyone we talked to had about the same report as we did :-? Im thinking hard about going again tomorrow but don't ...
