220 miles....
Is a long ways round trip in a boat to find dolphins scaring all the snapper but we made do :-D :-D :-D Too bad the best grouper was a gag and it had to go back and the triggers had to go back too But a good time for sure, it's crazy to me how much deeper the snapper are further south of the bend co...

Re: Keys Question
I also recommend taking the ferry to the dry Tortuga's, I fished while I was out there but all the good fishing spots are no fishing zones from the bank. I would stay in marathon or islamorada as well. Key west is different....it's like a weirdo version of new Orleans. My recommendation for a charte...

Re: Steinhatchee 5/5-6
Despite the bad luck, sounds like you and the wife had fun. I'm surprised that the flats aren't on fire right now :-D Thanks for posting As am I, we had a good time, I'm surprised with both the water temps and the grass not being fully greened up yet. My Facebook memory this morning was of this sam...

Steinhatchee 5/5-6
Since buying the stottcraft in October my wife has complained about not having actually fished out of the boat, in fact she's only rode in it once at lake blackshear, so while I had a small window in between trial plantings we snuck down to the hatch. She hasn't been fishing at the hatch in several ...

Re: Spanish Macks
I didn't find any at steinhatchee in any of my normal spots, just a couple random ones on the flats this past weekend.

Re: Spring Creek 10-14-2020
I can’t believe this place isn’t talked about more. With all that spring water going straight to the ocean without very far to go, I would think that flats fish of all kinds cram in there like sardines in the winter, and stay plentiful enough otherwise except for maybe in the hottest months. Then i...

Re: Steinhatchee 5/1-5/5/23
We were there 5/4-6, didn't fish Thursday, our Friday was similar, I didn't find any shorts, we did catch 3 good trout, a 20 and a 18 and a 15 that was very fat and full of shrimp, a good Spainsh and a 12in seabass. I should have stayed on that drift but the wife wanted lunch and I wanted to fish th...

Re: April 15th Keaton beach
I am glad y'all did decent. I convinced my bunch to go to the hatch, I knew Keaton would be scallop season lite with the weather being so nice, we did decent on sheepshead but didn't try trout, the talk at the ramp was very feast or famine like with them. I hate when people are that way at the ramp,...

Re: Breaking the stottcraft in at Keaton
I didn't mean that it was the original in panacea, I just meant if he goes to Keaton or steinhatchee, that he'd be a long ways away from the current Posey's. The stuffed flounder was awesome last time I got it. Granted last year at st marks we ate Angelo's and Hutton's when we ventured out of st mar...

Re: Breaking the stottcraft in
Looks like y’all had a great time regardless of the mishaps. Kathy’s is good for sure. You even been to Deals in Perry? Dinner and a show [emoji38]. I feel your pain on the battery. I gotta get one too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I've been to deals, it's been a little while, I always felt I...
