Re: Price of Gulp 3" Shrimp where you shop?

I appreciate everybody's input. I will pick up some ZMan baits again. They were my fall-back bait before. I struggled some with keeping them on jig heads and then resorted to Super Glue on the hook shank. They also tend to float, so I remember going to heavier jig heads as well. - Steve St...

Re: Price of Gulp 3" Shrimp where you shop?

Hit N Miss - That's why I was asking this question. $8 /pack is a bit much if you use 3-4 packs per outing. I remember a few years ago when Gulp softened up their baits so much they slung off the hook. I quit using them back then and I guess I am headed back that way. - Steve Stinson

Price of Gulp 3" Shrimp where you shop?

I stopped in Academy Sporting Goods this afternoon to pick up some tackle and drop an Amazon return off at the UPS store next door. I was surprised to find the Gulp 3" shrimp at Academy have gone up to $7.99 per pack. What is the price where you normally shop?

FWC Clean Up at Hickory Mound Last Weekend

Through an odd set of circumstances last week that had to do with a bull damaging one of my survey trucks I ended up with a rented John Deere Gator for a week. My wife and I decided to take it trail riding last Saturday since that was something we don't normally get to do. We went to Hickory Mound a...

Re: RiP Waviel...

My favorite Waivel story, believe it or not, has nothing to do with boats or fishing. When my son Andrew was about 12 I gave him a compound bow and a target to shoot at. That Thanksgiving we fried a turkey and after draining off the good oil to save, I turned the turkey pot upside down in a burn pil...

Re: Boat ramp Break ins???

I ate lunch with a friend in Tallahassee yesterday who told me they hit 10 or more trucks at the Aucilla Ramp. He also said Keaton Beach had been hit recently. They broke the windows out of each truck and some firearms are gone. I hate to see this get started up here. I moved away from Tampa in 1993...

Re: Coulda been way worse

The Lord was watching out for you there. Your post is good reminder to all of us to go back through our boat and double check all the minor problems. Those long runs off shore or even down the St. Marks River on a crowded day really pound everything in the boat. Anything not secured can ea...

Re: This could be you...with a PLB.

So for those of you who have researched such things - What brand / model seems to be a good buy for the money? I run a 20 foot SeaArk and to be honest, most of the time I could walk back to shore from the creek or near-shore flat that I am fishing. I might be bug-chewed, sun burned and hungry, but f...

Re: Econfina River Nav ?

I thought it was sort of funny that they marked a lot of new rocks that I've never hit and left all the sunken trees in the river that you have to dodge on the way out. The other issue is the non-frequent boaters often think those markers are the channel edges. Things should be pretty interesting at...

Re: Trolling Motor Power issue

Most likely the receptacle at home hooks to his on board charger. That's the way mine is set up. Even if the batteries are dead, the motor will work when the on board charger is plugged in to the wall.

Re: APRIL NFGFC TOURNAMENT entries

Good to see everybody at the meeting last night. Had a good time chatting with all of you and raffling prizes. I have a couple more entry forms to pick up from Trophy Creek Outfitters, which I think will get us close to 25 boats. Of course it's going to be cold and the wind is going to blow, but we ...

Re: Lowrance 9 Inch HDS Live still in the original box.

If anybody on this forum is interested in this unit, make me an offer. It's just sitting in my shop, so I am going to put it on Craig's List.

Thanks - Steve Stinson

Kids Truck Needed

My 18 yr. old son Andrew needs another truck. If any of you have a dependable 4x4 for sale let me know. It can be any brand except a Ford. The Stinson family has a long and sordid history with Fords. I am surprised Hobbs even lets me ride in his. The truck can be older if it is in decent mechanical ...

Lowrance 9 Inch HDS Live still in the original box.

I have a new / still in the factory packaging Lowrance 9" HDS Live for sale. The transducer with this unit will be used and it is not the Live transducer. I received this unit from Lowrance to replace my Elite 9 that had touch screen problems. I have switched back to Garmin and do not want this...
