Re: Lowrance Touch Screen Issues?

I will give that a try. When you initiate the re-align screen function, it moves a cursor to about 8 locations on the screen and has you touch it each time. This process re-sets the alignment perfectly, but my unit doesn't seem to hold the position. I have a big flat-bottomed SeaArk, so the trolling...

Lowrance Touch Screen Issues?

Anybody else having touch-screen issues with a Lowrance unit? I have an Elite 9 Ti that will not hold the touch screen calibration settings. It is frustrating, not to mention somewhat dangerous to be zipping down a creek and not be able to zoom in or out to keep track of your position. Once the scre...

Re: NFGFC...

I wanted to provide a brief update on the NFGFC. A few of us met at Showman's house last night and discussed the future of the club. The NFGFC will remain intact with all of it's assets - $, scales, banners, etc. Myself, Brian, and a couple others will work to get the corporate paperwork up to date ...

So I guess this is where the effort went that would have kept NFGFC going .

Re: NFGFC...

Hate to see this die after so many years, but I don't have the ability to take it back on again. Currently starting a new survey business in Monticello, so money and time are tight right now.

I will call Chris and see if he has any plans. - Steve Stinson

Re: Seaark with gator tail vs jet drive

STMU - I don't have a good answer for the lack of steering control on the jet foot boats. Both of my hulls were hard to control during loading / unloading. They also slide sideways through turns in creeks and rivers, so you are a bit broad-side to the direction of travel when turning on plane. I wou...

Re: Seaark with gator tail vs jet drive

Brian - My move away from jet power was unintentional. I had to fight BPS for more than a year to get them to honor a 5 yr. hull warranty on a Grizzly boat that was 3 years old. BPS sent my hull to a local welding shop several times to have the leaks fixed. Finally the folks who owned the welding sh...

Re: Seaark with gator tail vs jet drive

If I were making the same decision as you, the main question I would ask myself is "How often will I be running in weeds or floating grass?" Either option will serve really well in shallow water. The mud motor will do much better in weeds, but will not hold up long term to the salt. I had ...

Re: Spring Warrior 8-17-2020

Dog Days of Summer. I have been catching fish either way back in the creeks or way out offshore beyond the scallop hunters in 10 feet of water. Absolutely nuthin' in between those two extremes.

Re: Iamonia

My son prefers the bass fishing over the saltwater and that is the closest lake to our house. He fishes there a time or two a week when school is not in session. He says the FDEP has been spraying that lake pretty heavily from air boats, and killed a lot of the vegetation in the areas he liked. Cons...

Re: Spring Warrior 7-31-2020

I've been finding trout out in that same depth between the Aucilla and St. Marks rivers. Sometimes the water is clear and sometimes as dark as black coffee even out to 12 feet deep. Is the water out of Spring Warrior dark? Based on my experiences, clear or iced-tea colored is okay, but dark coffee c...

Re: Rod and Reels

I have a couple Shakespeare Tiger rods that I really like for trolling. One has a Shimano Baitrunner 6500 on it and the other a level wind reel. In both cases, when you are trolling the Mann's Stretch lures or other lipped baits, the rod tip bounces along with the action of the lure enough that you ...
