Re: Down South Lures
The further forward the line tie eye is on the jig head; the less it gets hung up in the grass, and the less it collects weeds around the line tie. If I could find jig heads locally that had a fairly slim profile head, with the eye coming out straight off the nose of the jig; I would buy them in siz...
Re: Lasso Net
That net would be illegal now anyway. It was well, well over the 14' max.MAV wrote:HOPE CARL WICKSTROM DOESN'T GET AHOLD OF THAT HE'LL PUT A END TO IT IT'S NOT FAIR ,IT'S NOT FAIR
Re: Lasso Net
How bout one that uses a blank cartridge with a trigger mechanism to project/fire a 4 ft cast net that would encapsulate the fish. This would eliminate a lot of those "Lost the moster next to the boat" issues. :jester_1 I know!! Get one of those self-tightening nets like the Predators had...
Re: Lasso Net
I heard (not recently) of a guy over in the Pensacola/Mobile area that had a twin-barreled compressed air powered "potato gun" cannon mounted on the bow of his boat. 1/3 of the net got loaded in one barrel, 1/3 of the net went in the other barrel, and 1/3 of the net lay on the deck. Report...
Re: Lasso Net
Think he'd want to hear my idea for a third generation net that is electronic and extends retracts hydraulically and slowly accompanied by flashing warning lights and a warning klaxon?
Re: Lasso Net
Cool! I want one.
The next step is to make it spring loaded; so you pick up a pole, press a button and ska-doosh ... instant landing net. Kind of like an automatic opening umbrella.
I swear, there's just no satisfying some people.

Re: Jet Drive Kayak
Hmmm.
Innovative. Innovative like the folks who put chainsaw engines on bicycles. I wouldn't want one of those, either.
The addition of the motor does require registration, and nav lights at night.

Re: need gift suggestion
If you don't come up with any ideas; gift cards for places like BPS, Cabela's, REI, L.L. Bean, etc., are never the wrong size and never the wrong color.
Or you could get him a kitchen sink.

Re: Wakulla Beach 2/14
Charles, you actually had a trip without a episode? Yeah well, my posts would be pretty boring if did a report for every trip. 1/2/10 Wakulla Beach Didn't catch anything. 1/3/10 Wakulla Beach Didn't catch anything. 1/6/10 Live Oak Island Didn't catch anything. 1/9/10 Wakulla River Didn't catch anyth...

Re: gettin skinny any suggestions?
Along with what RC said, but look at the 1st, 3rd and 4th boats on this page. If the wife asks what you're building you can always flip it upside-down and tell her it's a 14' coffee table. http://bateau.com/products.php?cat=28 For the least hassle and expense you could shop around for a used canoe o...

Re: Wakulla Beach 2/14
I was down there the afternoon of the 14th. More cars in at the beach than I expected to see. Went up Graves Creek and didn't do do-diddly-squat. Gave up earlier than I normally would have (before dark) because of the wind, and went home.

Not me; life's just simpler that way.Does anyone beside me think......
I doubt if there's anything I could do with a $25 Rico Suave that I couldn't do with a $5 Boy Howdy.

Good Sunday Morning
And Happy Valentine's Day. What? You Forgot ? In the U.S. men give women gifts for Valentine's Day, (almost shortened that to VD, but that doesn't really sound right does it?). In Japan women give men gifts. So I figure if the wife and I don't give each other anything, it works out even. Right? :smt...
