Re: Don't get gas at the sunoco in Woodville for awhile

Is it the marine fuel or the reg. fuel ? I'll check on it first thing A.M. Reg fuel.. 87 octane. I also want to have a disclaimer that while I suspect that's the case nobody can be 100% sure. It's also possible my fuel water separator just simply filled up and started pumping water. I pumped the fu...

Re: Don't get gas at the sunoco in Woodville for awhile

To be clear i'm not putting someone's business "on blast" or airing out a grievance. Bad gas can happen anywhere and i'm sure they'll take care of it but just wanted to let people know that it has water in it "for now".

Re: Fish bit someone at St marks sandbar

Seems possible, bite looks similar, but I’m not sure if they have bottom teeth. What I’m really surprised about is that there is a st marks sandbar Facebook page It's actually a good way to find out the real conditions since people regularly post while out at the sandbar. It's one of the better loc...

Fish bit someone at St marks sandbar

Someone posted on the St marks sandbar facebook group that something bit them and posted this picture. Call me crazy but that surely looks like the triangle shaped "beak" of a pufferfish and based on how crazy those things are... :o Another reason to hate them. http://i.imgur.com/ljddbrYl....

Re: St. Mark’s Set Up.

What depth should we focus on. Normally I drift 3.5 to 5 feet? I have always heard to set your cork at half of the depth of the water. Water depth depends on the water temp. Kind of ghetto but I tie about 5' on all my cajun/popping corks and if fishing shallower or getting pinfish bites put a basic...

Why weigh in at Lanark? Seems clear to me they're indifferent to just about everything. :smt012

What kind of fish is that halfway down in the pictures? The gray one.

Re: Need Help Identifying a Fish

Does anyone recall catching these in the past(other than the past couple years) on the St Marks flats? I surely can't remember coming across them in numbers like this in 10 years of fishing the area. First one caught was a neat novelty but I really hate them now. They will bite anything and the jaws...

Surprising they are that shallow but I guess water temps don't really reflect outside temps right now(warm mostly).

Re: Plotter recommendation $500-1,000

Another option could be getting a discontinued or refurbished unit that can run it. I know a couple of folks that went that way with no problems so far I had a Refurbished Garmin 74dv that worked awesome and not only that it was on top of my flybridge for years with not ill effects(uncovered). I th...

Re: Plotter recommendation $500-1,000

I have a Simrad Go9 With 3in1 Transducer that was about $750. EDIT looked up current prices and what the hell is going on with chartplotter pricing? I'd buy something used on Ebay or wait out what the hell is going on. They want almost $1,100 for a chartplotter I bought new for $750 last year. I don...

Re: Good areas for a novice "captain"

I'd launch at the fort and explore around that area. Follow everyone else and/or stay in the channel. If you go up the St marks there's a couple of obvious logs to avoid(about halfway to the 98 bridge).. The wakulla is my favorite and I don't go up the st marks past the 3rd of 4th bend past the 98 b...
