Re: Thoughts on chartplotter/sonar
I would recommend any option that has good satellite overlay. I know Navionics Plus has a good image and it also has Community Edits and updates. Fellow Navionics Plus users can and do share rock locations which do not show up on maps.

Re: What am I doing wrong
Trolled in the St. Marks river early Sunday while waiting for some water to come in, caught a 30" Redfish. Then moved to a bar near the river mouth and picked up a 23" and an 18" Trout. By then the water was getting in so I moved to some creeks and picked up four more Reds and a few T...

Re: What am I doing wrong
Between 1 and 5? :D Sorry I mentioned a specific spot. Next time I will leave out any specific location. I'm not sure if you have noticed this, but the Navionics app has a public marker in that area that says "Cast here for redfish" :o For about three years, that was a go to spot. It has n...

Re: St. Marks 12/11--12/12
I am a big fan of the "Broken Glass" series of Mirrodine lures. For me they seem to produce better.

Re: Lower unit oil
I'm glad you brought this up. It's probably time for me to check the prop shaft. No telling what manner of foreign material has gathered around it. You are right, there should be a better way to check the oil level and condition. That being said, plug gaskets are relatively inexpensive and sometimes...

Re: Trolling strategies
It almost sounds like you might need to apply the same tactics as the Bass anglers use for crank baits. Maybe a little more flex in the rod or a little less drag, so as not to pull the hooks loose.

SouthernPointe, days like that are what keep me coming back. Glad you guys were able to find a few. Where did you put in? Just trying to confirm a strategy for my Sunday trip.

The flats are heating up and cooling off!
Went out 11/1 2021. Headed east of the lighthouse and stopped at a close flat while waiting for the tide to get in. Picked up a couple of short trout, bite was very slow. Headed to a hump about two miles from the party bar. Found excellent water clarity. Approximately 6 feet visibility with very lit...

It might be a little sloppy, but you can't catch them from the recliner.
