Re: Popping cork
Another technique Ive had success with is using a long drop (fishing 5' of water with a 5' drop) under a popping cork but rather than throwing and popping, throw and use a very slow steady retrieve. Not just trout but spanish will hit it as well. JUst don't want to leave it sitting in one place beca...

Re: St. Marks 5/9
4-1/2' to 5-1/2' seems to be the right depth right now. Been getting all the shorts I can catch on Gulp (using about a 3' drop) but Ive been getting most of my keepers on Pin Fish. Doesn't take long with a Sabiki to load the live well with bait fish.

Tarpon on a trout rod?
Fishing this morning with my wife (usual spot) east of the light house. Trout bite was exceptional as it has been for the last few days. 4' of water throwing gulp under a popping cork. Cork starts flying just under the surface of the water. A lady fish or perhaps a Spanish. I set the hook and my rod...

St. Marks report 4-22-16
Dropped in at the lighthouse at safe light. Headed east just short of the rock garden and drifted the grass. A bit windy this morning but manageable. Trout bite was hot and heavy. Best bite was between 4' and 4-1/2". Threw every color gulp I had and nothing that didn't git hit on. Lost count on...

4/20/16 report from St. Marks
Went out at the lighthouse this AM at safe light. Almost low tide but enough water to get out with no problem. Headed east jus south of black rock and fished drifting west back towards the light house. Trout bite was pretty steady. Lots of shorts but several nice slot sized fish as well. 4'-4-1/2' s...

4/13/16 at St. Marks
Had a good day yesterday. Went out with a friend in his new 19' Sea Born to troll for Grouper and chase some trout. Nothing to speak of off shore but the trout bite was pretty good. Started out with Bleak Head Rock in sight just to our East and drifted back to the West. Caught 4 really nice keepers ...

St. Marks report 3/29
Dropped the boat in just before safe light. Surprised there weren't any bait fish by the ramp. Didn't see any schooling at all so no need to get the cast net wet. As I went thru the pass there was a soft breeze and very slight chop on the water. Past the rocks and east between the light house and th...

Shout out to Stow Away Marine
Just wanted to give a shout out to the folks at Stow Away Marine. Sold my McKee Craft on consignment, got me what I needed to put the deal together and got it sold in about 45 days. These are good people to do business with!

Re: Levy Bay
Thanks Rocky. Ive been out there once with Steve Hourigan. It was in my center console and on a falling tide. This was right after knee surgery. Falling tide. Glad Hourigan was there to get out and push the boat THREE TIMES so I understand the shallow part. This Pro Angler is rated at a 9" draf...

Levy Bay
River fishing has been slow (to say the least) so gonna do something a little different. Gonna try fishing Panacea. Anybody ever fish much around Levy Bay? Love to have some feedback on the area.

Re: Sunday - St. Marks River
Rob4auburn,
I was out there as well on Saturday morning (red Sports Pro 20') and trolled up and down the river and never got so much as a bite. Glad someone is catching some fish. Just wish it was me!
