Re: May Fishing Report
My wife and I fished Steinhatchee couple days first week of May. She basically wore me out the first day 7 keeper trout to my 3 and she got a personal best 23+ inches. Second day results sorta reversed so we basically tied. Strange thing was we fished West one day and south the next but caught VERY ...

Re: Best spots now for Steinhatchee redfish?
Yeah we tried around Sink and Bull Cove last fall and spotted couple schools of reds but trolling motor was acting up ( imagine that) and could never get in front of them and so many random rocks hate to try the big motor much there. Was also thinking bout mouth of Bivens Creek just N of channel. Ro...

Best spots now for Steinhatchee redfish?
Heading to Steinhatchee next week to try and put my wife on some reds. If you had to pick one area would it be from Rocky Pt West to Dallus Creek or south from Tater Island to Bull Cove? Or heck, any other suggestions.

Re: Keaton beach 4/23/22
Looks like a fun day. We are heading to Steinhatchee next week Monday-Friday and hope to wear out some big trout on top water and put my wife on some reds, and oh yeah eat at Roy’s. Wish us good weather as this time of year hopefully won’t need luck with the fishing. Fingers crossed anyway.

Are the fish on the flats at St. Marks?
Hoping to head to St. Marks next week for a day trip. Have the fish moved out to the flats and any ideas on depth that they are holding on.

Re: Headed to St. Marks in morning
Just a follow-up on our trip to St. Marks yesterday. We got on the water about an hour or so before high tide and puttering out saw several boats anchored a little gulf side of the intersection of the 2 rivers catching some nice trout. As the tide slackened the action seemed to die but once it was r...

Headed to St. Marks in morning
My son and I are headed to St. Marks in the morning. Weather looks good and super excited to just be out. Planning to try creek mouths and maybe some slow trolling. Would appreciate any tips or reports.

Re: St. Marks 1/23
Sounds awesome. I am headed down for a day trip in a week or so and will probably try the creek mouths but does anyone ever do any slow trolling in the river channel? I’ve heard of folks locating fish that way in the Steinhatchee River.

Crystal River Shallow Water Grouper
Have always wanted to try the shallow water grouper fishing around Crystal River in fall. Certainly don’t mind hiring a guide but have a 20 ft Pathfinder bay boat and would love to try to figure it out. Never been there and understand there are numerous rocks to attract your lower unit as well as ho...

St. Marks fishing report?
I may have time for a day trip to St. Marks next week, has anyone been doing any good on trout? I know there’s not much tide movement on Thursday 7/22 in middle of day but still would like to give it a try.

Red Snapper St. George Island ??
I will be spending the week of June 7-12 on St. George Island on a family vacation. Anybody possibly planning on going after red snapper that might need an extra hand to help with expenses? Been fishing the Gulf for decades but inshore and have never caught a red snapper.

Sea grass in Deadman’s Bay ?
Saw the results of seagrass survey done in Deadman’s Bay that indicated a 70%+ reduction in seagrass this year. Probably due to cold weather and root structures apparently good so will recover but has anyone fished Steinhatchee or Keatons recently and noticed this? If so how has it impacted the fish...

Hoping to head to St. Marks middle of next week for a day trip if weather allows. Has anybody noticed if the trout have begun to move out onto the grass flats?

St. Marks flats fishing
Is anyone still catching trout on the grass flats north of St. Marks River or have they mostly retreated to the river?
