Do they make a spot lock type system for those dual trollers that fit on the trim tabs? Tarpon boys were big on those a few years back.
Anyone know?

Re: Bait in the Carrabelle River
You have Gulf menhaden, thread herring, and pilchards. Different fish but all good bait.

Re: Tiger shark at Ecofina
Yeah, they are around and very impressive. IMO and experience, sharks are like any other wild predator. We are not normally on the menu but there is always an exception. So, be smart with them. Bull sharks and tigers are very capable of killing any time. Saw where recently a cougar killed a cyclist ...

Re: Carrabelle 5/19 - Nearshore grouper and snapper
Got invited over to fish with a friend of mine on his new to him boat. I've fished some off of Mexico beach in my bay boat but not been to Carrabelle. Stayed at The Moorings and we ate at Boss Oyster Friday night, pretty darn good hunk of blackened redfish. He had some issues with brand new reels e...

Re: Bait Runner Reels Worth the Weight and Complexity??
I'm trying to figure out whether having a rod outfitted with a baitrunner reel is worth the extra weight of the reels or their complexity. Those of you having a baitrunner reel, do you use the baitrunner feature often? Additionally, do you use your baitrunner reels for cast and retrieve fishing or ...

Prescription Sunglasses
FWIW, I like the blue mirror 580 for offshore, which is actually a gray lens color. I have used them for sight fishing the LA marsh and they worked well there, too. The lenses themselves have held up and still are near perfect. The frames? No. And I am super careful with them. The price? Ridiculous....

Re: Prescription Sunglasses
Thinking about a pair of prescription sunglasses. Who and what are your thoughts on brands and color lens for offshore? Costa is a popular brand but the customer service and warranty sucks according to the reviews I read. Smith looks like a good company to do business with. Who in the Tally PC area...

Went offshore Sat and Sunday with Cecil Williams, Lee Jones and Jerry White. Started out in 60 feet of water and fishing with Chicken rigs hammered the sea bass and grunts. Man what a morning. Small pieces of squid on 3/0 circle sea hooks. Moved to a couple of other spots in close and had a good bo...

Get better soon! There is some nasty stuff in warm southern waters. If you get Vibrio in a cut you can be dead within a couple days. 25% of dying even with treatment.. Nasty stuff that gets several fisherman every year. That number gets closer to 100% if you eat a raw scallop or oyster with vibrio....

SPEAK OUT FOR BETTER RED SNAPPER MANAGEMENT
From Keep America Fishing... SPEAK OUT FOR BETTER RED SNAPPER MANAGEMENT snapper.jpg Thanks to a landmark agreement between the Gulf of Mexico states and the federal government in 2017, recreational fishermen had responsible access to red snapper in federal waters for the first time in many years. ...

Find a spring, catch a mess of mullet
Yeah, I believe you would need a commercial fishing license (spl), and probably both a wholesale and retail to be legal. But you can call FWC Division of Marine Fisheries to check. Plus maybe a business license for wherever the fish were sold. In any case, isn’t legal to sell or buy a recreational c...

Hope your experience with Comcast is positive. “Chat” or customer service normally means a conversation with someone in Pakistan, India, or Columbia, SA. About as useless time spent as looking at your toes. They don’t care, won’t care, and will not care what you want, or think. Sorry to write, but t...

Re: Cold hands ruining your day on the water?
My experience with neoprene gloves is based on 35 years of duck hunting and using neoprenes for 20+ years until I got tired of them. There are neoprene gloves that can be warm. Just like Neoprene waders. but in order to get that warmth, you need some pile to the lining and 5mm of thickness. When yo...

Re: Cold hands ruining your day on the water?
If it is really cold and you want max dexterity, I go with simple liner gloves. Then I put a hot hands on the back of my wrist. Then over that goes fingerless wool gloves. I have only fished this way once, but hunted a bunch with them on. Great dexterity for loading shotgun shells and tested to low...
