Thursday from the Lighthouse

Just had to go and get some salt air in my lungs. Dad-in-law and I put in at the Lighthouse about 10:30 to catch the last of in-coming tide. Fished along the grass to see if Mr. Red was home; not today. Drifted with the tide and slight breeze into bay just east of lighthouse and caught a nice fat 18...

Re: Small Motor Mechanic?

Hey #3. welcome to the area and the forum. Most of the shops charge $75-80 per hour plus parts. So, you're looking at lest at a Ben Franklin for the look and hopefully repair. I live in Havana and have used Webster just across the Gadsden county line on the right heading north on Monroe st. they hav...

Re: Panacea Report

Thanks for the report. Good to know that someone found the trout. If you don't mind; what bait, and were you inside or outside of Piney?

Spring Creek 1-20-17

The weather turned out much better than expected (8:00-noon), and the fishing turned out as expected (sloooow). Fished the oyster bars outside of Spring Creek and up the creek a ways. Only managed 2 short trout and we really fished hard. The fish are too confused by the cold 1 week and warm the next...

Love the report, certainly love the kid and sheepshead; must be the reason for the season.
Merry Christmas to us all.

Good job and thanks for posting and pics. A little chop has always helped me with the top water baits. Keep casting.

Re: O'Bay Report 10/19

Thanks for sharing your story and for "taking a kid fishing." I started my boy sitting beside me in a jon boat slow trolling a Beetle Spin on Lake Jackson. He catching small bass and big brim, and I caught a fishing buddy.

The water is clear

Got a chance to try the "fall mullet run" hoping to find Mr. Red. The mullet were everywhere and the porpoise were having a great time. One of the porpoises caught up to the skiff and swam along side for a short distance; now that is neat. The water on the flats was as clear as I have seen...

red fish and blue fish 8-25-16

Watched the sun rise behind the lighthouse as we headed to the creeks to hunt for red fish. A couple of cast with the bait net and we're good to go. The back of Big Bay was the spot again to find our red friends and it doesn't take long to get our limit of one each. No giants, but good table fare si...
