Re: What was the most trophies you’d lost in a day?

ALL of the fish that get away from me are trophies....Isn't that the fisherman's creed? :-D

Re: Covid at JR's

That's exactly my biggest concern. My 80 yr old Mom lives in a house on the same property as ours.

Re: St MARK’S Friday 6/17

I fished St. Marks yesterday and it was reasonably clear. Actually, very clear compared to the Econfina area. If you pushed all the way up into the shoreline creeks between Black Rock and Grey Mare Rock the water was the color of iced tea. The creeks still had fish in them. We caught a red, a flound...

Re: St MARK’S Friday 6/17

Thanks for all the replies. I am tired of fishing the extremely dark water over toward Econfina and looking for somewhere else to go until it clears up some. - Steve Stinson

Re: St MARK’S Friday 6/17

That water looks pretty dark. I fished out of Econfina last Saturday and ran from Rock Island to the Aucilla and found the water dark as strong coffee. Did you see any clearer water over toward St. Marks?

Thanks - Steve Stinson

Re: Covid at JR's

I thought about the same thing. Normally I get sick with a cold a couple times per year around the change in the seasons. Not this year. Too much hand washing and other precautions.

Re: Covid at JR's

First instinct is to run out and get tested as soon as you can, but based on the nurse's advice - getting tested with less than 5 days between first exposure and testing can result in a false negative. So I guess I wait a few more days and see what happens. JR's weigh in was Saturday evening so Thur...

Re: Covid at JR's

I suppose a positive result would force me to seriously isolate and not come in contact with anybody including other family members.

Re: Covid at JR's

Well, right now I am not having much luck. I drove to Patients First / Mahan location for rapid testing only to be turned away 2 hrs ago because they can only do 300 tests per day. I was told I need to be there by 6 am in order to make sure I get tested. FAMU / Bragg Stadium also has a test, but the...

Re: Battery maintenance

Handy gadget. My problem with gear like that is remembering where I stored it in the boat shed so I can actually use it. From the sound of the ad, I think you hook this thing to the batteries and it stays put - replacing the old battery caps. In that case, losing it wouldn't be a problem but ...

Re: Battery maintenance

Yup - Just don't use the SAME squeeze ball and line that you use for your fuel line... :-D One more thing - Don't over-fill your battery cells when you do this. If you don't have your batteries contained in boxes and you overfill the cells, the acid that spills into the bilge is very corrosive to al...

Re: GPS coordinates

Make sure the machine you load them into is set to exact same datum and coordinate format as the one they came out of or you will have a mess. The most common datum for marine navigation is WGS-84, and the most often used format is DD.MM.MMMM (degrees, minutes, decimal of minutes.) Capt. Steve Hobbs...

Re: Mirrolure Spoons

A lot of older fishermen in the Suwannee River troll real big Drone spoons for trout in the winter. I've never tried it, but they swear by them.
