Thanks for the report and good to hear you caught some keepers. Can't wait until we can get back on the water.
Did you try a white shrimp gulp with an orange tail? That was our best bait last Saturday.

Re: Full Moon Fishing at Night in the Gulf
I've trout fished before on a full moon night. Same techniques as day with results about the same. I picked up some glow in the dark gel from the craft store and coated a couple of Cajun Thunders on the top. Works well with the light of the moon. You can track it just fine. If you get some clouds c...

Re: Suzuki parts....
I own a Suzuki and love it! I order my parts on line from Browns Suzuki Marina, East Point Md. - I think? They are very helpful in taking orders and so far have had nothing but successes in my ordering. My 115 Suzuki has given us very good service. Some areas of the country run mostly Suzuki. Our ar...

Re: Full Moon Fishing at Night in the Gulf
What I found out on a google search. Night fishing is best on dark nights with a light hung over the side of an anchored boat. The light draws minnows and they draw fish. Fishing is done in ten foot water straight down over the side, under the boat. No casting. Nothing like I had in mind! It was rec...

Re: Full Moon Fishing at Night in the Gulf
[quote="J Holden"]As I understand it, back in the day when it was legal, the preferred method of commercial fishing for seatrout was to troll big silver spoons on the flats at night. Are you saying it would be illegal to troll a big silver spoon on the flats at night now days? That sounds ...

Full Moon Fishing at Night in the Gulf
I've always wanted to fish at night, on the full moon in the gulf. Last Saturday the moon was full and so beautiful. Has anyone tried it and what was your results? Are the fish more active at night when the moon is full?

You definitely did better than I did in steinhatchee. We've had some poor trips lately but Saturday was a good one. You never know! Makes me think of an old saying to the question, "When is the best time to go fishing?" Answer: If you can't go today, go tomorrow. If you can't go tomorrow,...

Re: Keaton 5-18-16
We fished north. Made two stops. One out from Yates Creak and Spring Warrior about 2 miles out and the other one about the same distance but between Spring Warrior and Rock Island.
Sorry about date. It was May 21st, Saturday - yesterday. Looking at the month of April instead of May this morning.

Our son called around ten Saturday morning wanting to go fishing. Cautioned him that mama and I went Thursday and found no one home - came back with two keeper trout. But, who can turn down a chance to go fishing even if half the day is over? Loading up and adjusting our schedule for the remainder o...

"If God would but grant me the power. To roll back the pages of time. I'd give all I own. If I could but atone. to that silver haired daddy of mine." O how I still miss him even after 41 years. One of the joys of my life is remembering the times we fished together. Thanks for the story and...

Good report. Nice reading how others fish, especially out of a Yac. If only I were younger.
