I guess any three that don't make good bait like you mentioned. Remora was first on Saturday, then a hard head cat, then a ladyfish. On Sunday a bonnet head shark made 4 species for the weekend. I did get one 13.5" trout so that was a little hope.Mckayaker wrote:What species make up the trash trifecta?

Re: Econfina River Sept 26 - 27
Thanks for the info everyone! I'll keep trying and see what happens. I made a new push pole in the hopes that I would get in more shallow water with the temps coming down.

Re: St Marks weekend -- tough fishing
Might have to turn in my fishing license if I keep getting skunked like this. Here's hoping for some calm days on the flats, and some good weather for the snapper weekends. I feel the same way. Last weekend only one keeper this weekend none. We did catch the trifecta of trash fish Saturday afternoo...

That's what I was thinking. I'll have to get some of the other brands in different colors and some scent and see what happens.FishWithChris wrote:Never mix your plastics.
Nobody mentioned the time of day. Is fishing at first light always better or does it depend on the time of tide more?

Re: Econfina River Sept 26 - 27
Can you put the unfairlures or Z-man in the Gulp juice or will they fall apart?
Re: Fryers
Sounds like a good deal, but I don't have a place for one right now. Trying to build a house so I can have an outdoor kitchen one day soon.Salty Gator wrote:How does $200 sound? Used once to fry pork chops and cleaned up like new.

I guess I need a few more colors in the Gulp bucket. Thanks for the info!

Re: Econfina River Sept 26 - 27
I don't think I had any glow color, but the e-chicken seemed to be the brightest color I had except for pearl white. There was a lot of water draining out of the woods too, but it didn't seem to bother other more seasoned fishermen.

By the way, Dewayne with Rip A Lips Outfitters is a great guy and seems to be an excellent charter boat captain.

Water color seems a lot clearer than Econfina based on your report. I couldn't see the bottom in 2' down there.

Re: Econfina River Sept 26 - 27
My girlfriend was using live shrimp with no cork or weight Saturday and added a popping cork for Sunday/Monday. I think she hooked a big catfish or black drum first thing because it stayed on the bottom and popped the line at the boat. She probably had a Spanish on the second cast because the 30lb l...

Econfina River Sept 26 - 27
I feel like I need more practice catching and less times wishing! I spent the weekend at the Econfina river and by the looks of the tides I thought we were going to have a busy day catching fish. It was pretty exciting Saturday morning when we got out of the mouth of the river and my girlfriend was ...

There's a long discussion on The Hull Truth about Cape Horns, but it's from 2013 so things might be completely different now.
