I got some Blacktip from you and did the back part of my tin boat. It has help up better than the hull! I'll take pictures tomorrow if I remember.

Re: Panama City Boat Ramps

Thanks for the info! I'll be staying on the east side of the Hathaway Bridge so I plan on checking out the bay side. If the water is calm I might go out a few miles to scout for fish.

Panama City Boat Ramps

Does anybody have experience with the Carl Gray Park in Panama City? I am going to that area next weekend and wanted to find a place to launch the boat. Any other tips for fishing and sight seeing are appreciated as well.

cotton wrote: July 6th, 2022, 10:35 amMany CPR tournaments let you keep fish if you want. Your just not required to harvest the trophy ones.
Would that allow for the largest fish caught to be overslot, or does that depend on individual tournament rules?

slow motion wrote: July 5th, 2022, 9:11 amSame here. Places where they were past years they aren't currently. Talked to a few who found big concentrations of them though. As one fella put it, when we found em they were everywhere.
I think we were too shallow. I'm going to 5-7' of water next time we go out.

Re: Who’s scalloping/fishing over the 4th of July weekend?

We got an early (ish) start on Saturday at 9:30 and hunted the elusive bay scallop until around 2. We found them very sparse close to the lighthouse and moved more east toward the old Grey Mare. As we moved east there were none to be found. Did anyone else have similar outcome?

Most likely the Lighthouse, unless I can park my boat overnight at Shell Island.

I plan on being in the Grey Mare area Saturday around lunch. I'm going to drift around some to scout areas away from the crowd.

I went fishing out of Econfina with a friend two weeks ago and we caught 4 shorts. The biggest one was 17.5" They were hiding under a crab trap buoy!

I'm glad the St Marks zone isn't opening early this year. Those little guys need more time to grow! I might go scouting this weekend.

rockyg wrote: June 9th, 2022, 1:51 pm What are they working on? The road? The ramp?
I heard there are asphalt machines at the ramp so they are probably resurfacing the road and parking lot.
