Re: Jon boat or Gheenoe for flats
That Smitty seems like a good deal and probably rides good too. I know i'd prefer it to a Gheenoe. I'd go for a Carolina skiff in the length that you want and keep it simple for real shallow fishing but that's just me. Fiberglass has tons of abrasion resistance if you account for scratches :-D and t...

Re: St. Marks River
I could only get them in the deepest part of the channel a tough undertaking with saturday boat traffic. I idled over the spot moving when any traffic came through, rinse/repeat and just got tired of doing it. I was fishing in a similar spot on the entrance to a creek near the grass about a mile nor...

Re: Suzuki vs. Yamaha
I'd gladly buy a Suzuki over a Yamaha if the Suzuki was cheaper(they usually are) and IMO you should shop around for a better price on a zuke.
If they are within $200 of each other you can't deny the Yamaha would have more resale value.

Re: Fishing this weekend Nov 21 -22 near St marks
I would start in about 3' of water on the flats in front of the lighthouse and work my way to the mouth of the river. This is based on today and if we get a cold front they'll move up. IMO other than where the east river meets the st marks I wouldn't fish there right now. There's going to be redfish...

Re: Yamaha 90hp two stroke repair
Get a compression check or do one yourself and always get a second opinion. Those 2 stroke 90's are very desirable(low weight high hp) and would be worth rebuilding IMO. It's one of the very few older 2 strokes I would say that about. Powerhead replacement would be tough since they don't make them a...

Re: Boat Ramps/Storage
Ask shields about storage in the "barn" but I suspect there's a list for that too(might as well sign up for it). If you're dead set on dry storage Rock Landing marina is very good too but a further drive from Tallahassee. I kept my boat there for a year or so and liked the change but came ...

Re: Bainbridge to Apalach
The only thing that could possibly slow you down/give you issue is the lock at the dam. I looked it up awhile back and thought it was closed.

Re: Mangrove snapper
Hey All, I’m sort of new to this forum and I was wondering, has anyone had any luck with mangrove’s on some of the oar reefs or other artificial reefs out of St. Marks? Or what other species are out there? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I haven't this year but they should be there along with Sh...
