Re: Tracker Grizzly 1648 w/ 25 Yamaha 2 stroke
Bump. Price drop to 4950. Had several lowball offers, but she's still available. Would make a great boat for red-fishing in the morning and scalloping in the afternoon once it got too hot.

Re: Inshore/Offshore boat
I have to agree with SaltyGator. Iv been in several bay boats. In regards to a pathfinder, they are the best riding and dryest bay boat out there. They will absolutely own 2 foot chop for breakfast. In addition, they have a shallow draft, tons of space, and a lot of storage. With that said, they'll ...

Re: Redfsh limit
Well, I'm sure you guys will be happy to know, your "overreaching government" will be building a marine sportfish hatchery this summer in Pensacola, Florida. I just don't get why all you guys cant get onboard with the conservation mindset. FWC is trying to sustain the population of Redfish...

Re: Redfsh limit
Its a good thing. Stock assessments are down and many guides in the NW region are reporting fewer and smaller reds. It may be frustrating, but its to help conserve the red fishery. If you want meat, you can still keep 5 trout and 15 Spanish...and still 1 Red.

Re: why all the wind?
It always blows like crazy in the spring. You usually get 5 days of windy conditions and 2 days of decent conditions per week. Once late april and early may hit it usually lays down for the summer. May through September should be nice with the usual 15-20 knot SW seabreeze cranking up every day arou...

Re: Cape Horn Boats
Congrats on the boat. My dad has a 22 Angler with a Yamaha 200 ox66, the motor is bullet proof. It's an absolute workhorse and has only been in the shop twice for minor repair since he bought it in 2005 (besides annual maintenance). It has 800 hours and is still trucking strong. In regards to the Ca...

Re: FISHING THIS FRIDAY
Take a look at the artificial reef coordinates page listed here on this website. A lot of those will hold legal sea bass, flounder, and sheepshead this time of year. Squid, gulps, and shrimp will work for all 3 of those species. As previously mentioned, grouper are closed until April 1. As for trout...

Re: Short Reds
Louisiana does have an incredible inshore fishery, that's for sure. A good buddy of mine recently went and averaged 80 Reds a day, even catching some on bare jig heads. To reiterate the previous comment, you can't compare the fishery in Louisana to that in Florida. With the insane amounts of nutrien...

Re: Short Reds
I catch an exponentially larger amount of short redfish during the winter months vs the warmer months. I can take a look at historical information I have from the past 15 years or so and tell you I catch 8/1 shorts to keepers during the winter months. During the spring and summer, that ratio narrows...

Re: St. Marks Fishing
Welcome to the forum OF. The guys above definitely gave you some good advice. A couple more things that could be useful would be to get on google earth and take a look at the rocky areas. If you plan on running a bay boat, you'll need to learn those areas. The rock garden just to the east of the lig...

Re: Suffix 832
Iv used suffix 832 and the regular pp. As SG mentioned, I second that opinion regarding the fraying. The pp last twice as long as the suffix 832. Just my 2 cents. Good luck w it.
