It ain't broke, don't break it. Keep current 1-fish bag limit.

FWC Seeks Input on Possible Red Drum Regulation Changes
The FWC is considering creating regional management areas for red drum and raising the daily bag limit from one fish to two per person in Northeast and Northwest Florida.

To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.

Keep it the same. I enjoy going out and catching 10 or more reds in a day. If we start keeping two the good day of catching 10 or more in one day will start to trend down. Then when your son or daughter start fishing they will come home on a good day and have only caught maybe 1 red. Who knows?

I think we should keep the limit the same, but I wouldn't be against a slot change. Not anything too drastic, maybe 15" to 30". I don't know if my opinion is a good one, I'm definitely not an expert.

For the best eating.......redfish over 27 inches does not make the cut.

i wouldn't want to see the slot go up, then people will start keeping the breeders. The redfish population seems very plentiful, an increase in the bag could only hurt.

Also, at this point we do not know how much long term damage will occur from the oil spill, and how that will effect the fishery.

The limit in Alabama where I am originally from is three with one of these being oversized. Even with this limit you can consistently catch not only good numbers of fish but also very large fish. I don't think the population would take a hit by increasing the limit to two slot fish.

One when it's just my family. Two, when company is coming over. Zero when the freezer has a few.

I hope the folks on this board don't need a limit, since we go fishing all the time.

For the rest, I'll leave it to the "Experts". Do what's best for the fishery. After all, redfish are predators. I like catching other species also.

I like the taste of redfish and would be fine with them upping the limit.
There are few times I am down there "meat fishng" I go because it brings me peace.
I think if everyone that went obeyed the current laws we would be much better.
I have seen some folks stacking em on the floor while I was tossing them back.
There was no way they wern't over the limit. Also seen folks drop off a cooler and go again.
I like to fish but driving from Ga 100 miles each way 1 fish is harsh when the trout bite is off.
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?

better keep everything the same until we learn how to drill without spewing oil into the Gulf :smt011
