My fishing report for March 26, 2019

Post by deer30084 »

Went fishing with the wife on the flats east of the Lighthouse. Caught several short trout, 3 keepers and one 13" flounder. Legal trout were 15", 16" and 17 12". We were using mirro lures minnow lures and white gulp on popn' cork. Caught the flounder on the bottom on a white gulp with chartreuse tail. Weather was clear/cloudy, sunny and about 70F. Wind was from the north and changed to from the south about 3:30 p.m. Water was not smooth and not overly rough either. I guess that's called a light chop.

What did the water look like in that area? I fished Steinhatchee last weekend and 90 percent of the water was very clear. However there were spots that looked like sandy area from a distance, but when you got right up to them, they were just small areas of cloudy water.

Glad you had a chance to get out there.

Has the grass grown back on the
flats? Was it sparse or thick?
