Franklin County Ramps

Post by SouthernPointe »

Any word on if the County has opened the ramps back up to ALL of the general public yet?

I know they had a meeting at 9am this morning and opened the public beaches up on a limited basis starting Monday.

If I’m reading the new order right it looks like they are open to residents or non-resident property owners.
Not open to everyone.
Here is the new ordinance- https://www.franklincountyflorida.com/w ... 020-09.pdf

I guess I need to find a privately owned or publicly owned landing.

You just tossed out any leg you had to stand on. Opening Beaches opening restraunts but keeping boat ramps closed to non residents. Your picking and choosing what business gets fed.

They should change the name to Fascist Co. Florida. It won't affect me this time, because I do own in the County and the lock down is over, but it sure ticks me off!

Oh and the fine Sheriff blamed it on the governor's order, which is a lie.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

Can I pay you to put my boat in the water or can I lease a foot of land from you? Hahah jk

The county nor the municipalities have enough man power to be the boat ramp police 24/7.

I honestly like going to Franklin because I can take the wife and kids to the Dog island and then fish some close spots.

Fortunately, the vast majority of Dog Island is private so the beach ordinance doesn’t apply.

I definitely understand your point of view. Unfortunately, if the businesses had it their way, nothing would be closed. They will be impacted the most.

The locals will just have to remember this come time for reelection.

This is ripe for a lawsuit. How many of these boat ramps were built with Federal grant money? I would bet the terms of the grant required the ramp to be open to the PUBLIC.

But all of the closures have made the wakulla ramps packed w people. And they appreciate the business, but crowds are what we are trying to avoid. I doubt if I’ll ever buy a pack of gum in Franklin co going forward. RB, I like your post but this meme sucks.
