Ever dealt with large # of rays on a flat?

Happy hump day everyone. Does anyone else find when you are fishing/wading a flat and there is a large # of rays that other fish tend to avoid the area? Just a theory I have made after several recent wading trips and it seems the presence of a large number of sting rays reduces the redfish action. Competing for food source is my main theory? Feel free to correct me or anything haha

I have noticed it too. I always heard you might find reds following rays, but I have never experienced it.

If we get into a creek loaded with rays, we typically don’t see reds there

Never really noticed a correlation between rays and the absence of reds on the flats. But I have found reds following behind rays, looking for whatever is stirred up.

From a wading perspective I have seen reds and rays together and have seen rays by themselves with no fish near. I haven’t noticed much correlation between the two;But that doesn’t mean there isn’t one. What I have noticed is current seems to be more of an influence; while gigging I’ll see rays hold heavy in shallow faster moving current; and reds/trout will congregate in the outside point of pockets of current.
I will pay more attention though going forward..
