Power Pro Problems

Post by pastorterry »

Has anyone had any issues with the 'new' Power Pro? It has been in a different colored box recently. I have had problems with 'mid-line' breaking and fraying. Thought it was a bad eye but it did it on 3 different rods!

None. I fish 8- and 10-pound Super Slick 8 v2 exclusively with no problems. Sounds like you might have gotten a bad spool. If you bought it from a store, I'd ask for an exchange.

I have not had any issues; but haven’t spooled any new line on since June/July.

No issues here... unless you count fading as an issue.
I did take the PP off of one reel and spool it with KastKing braid the other day.. seems to be a bit stiffer

The Spectra fiber is naturally white. Tints are added using wax for the colors to stick. So the line becomes more limber after it is cast a few times. And as the wax slowly sloughs off, the colors start fading.

Thanks for all the feedback. I have been using PP for years and never a problem!
