Shallow water grouper out of St. Marks ?

Post by Saltydawg »

Is there any sort of shallow water grouper fishery off of St. Marks that might be similar to Crystal River?

I heard a tale of grouper being caught 4 miles out of St Marks back in November, but I wasn't given any more details.

5 miles from the lighthouse and you're on St Marks reef. Over-fished, but I have caught grouper there in about 18 foot depth.

I’ve caught grouper in the channel out from the lighthouse.

Should have seen the FWC faces when they saw the 2 legal grouper in the box at 8am.
