Bald Point State Park - Pompano?

May head out there Saturday to celebrate Mother's Day. Would do some shore fishing. Are pompano still around and do they come in that close?
Other shore fishing tips for area appreciated. Will definitely have my cast net in case a mullet swims by.

Have you caught pompano there before?. I would think you have to get over to St George Island area to catchem.

I have caught one pomp there on a jig years ago. Have always hit the island for them and had better luck. But you never know what lurks beneath.
