Mexico Beach; Where to Catch Pinfish

Post by John21:6 »

I am planning to launch my boat at Mexico Beach for an offshore fishing trip one of these days. When I launch out of Carrabelle or St. Marks, I catch pinfish on the grass flats on the way out. But there doesn't appear to be any grass flats at Mexico Beach. Where should I look for pinfish at Mexico Beach, around the docks in the canal?

Thanks for your help.

Not a normal launch for me, but plenty of pinfish on the grass flats inside the tip of CSB.
In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.

We were at The State park, Cape San blas area, snorkeling off the beach a couple weekends ago. There were a ton of Pinfish as well as some sorta Jack/pompano looking fish. Hard tell with their size, but at any rate plenty of pins, close to the beach feeding off something in the sand. No grass around at all.
