Took the kayak out to St Marks over the weekend, hoping for some nice slot reds. Instead I got some of these ole stinkers.

21 inch was the largest of 'em.

I have seen 2 large cats out there recently! I thought about taking one home to see for myself how good the are. I had to go all the way to the Pinhook River to catch a nice Red on Friday.

If it weren’t for the slime and spines, I’m guessing everyone would keep them for the table. I’ve heard very few folks say they didn’t like them fried.

I’m a firm believer that a good salsa and a soft tortilla can make any fish good.

Saying that I have eaten my share of catfish tacos with verde salsa
