Hitting the highlights

Post by howl »

We're looking to start visiting the area for some trips but don't know when or where. If you were going to make a handful of fishing trips per year, which months and species would you plan around?

Currently I have a late June scallop and snapper trip out of Steinhatchee booked. I'm thinking of trying to catch the end of scallop season around St. Marks and possibly grouper at the same time. These are all charters. I'm not buying a boat.

Typically the fishing is better before the weather gets to hot

You might want to check the Grouper season for this year before you book a charter. Gag Grouper is from September 1st through November 10th.
Also, as of today the Red Snapper season has not been determined for 2023.
