St Marks NWR- Dec 08 2018

Post by Terrier »

Fished the refuge this afternoon from 1:30 - 4:30 PM and had good action with trout toward the west passes. Ended up with 11 trout, 19" to 16" with most of them upper slots. Lost 3 more. Most were caught on a black clouser. I got one on a black gartside gurgler and lost one on the gurgler as well. The water is clearer than I expected, with no tannin stain.

I had planned on heading down later this week but figured the water would be muddy still, sounds like I need to change plans.

Haven't fished in awhile...

Nothing specific but where are they :-D ?

I hate early winter fishing and my big boat doesn't show water temp with the ducer.

They were shallow In the mouth of a creek.

I expect them to move back in the main rivers now with this new cold weather.
