Lanark Boat Ramp CLOSED

Post by silverking »

Launched at Lanark Boat Club ramp yesterday. The Mart has repairs going on to leaking pipes, so fuel is not currently available. Pumps are expected back sometime next week while the next phase gets underway (raising fuel fills).

Mike the dockmaster was there at the time and he told me the ramp will be closing soon to allow dredging of the boat basin and some other dock repairs. Permits have been issued, but the contractor is still awaiting the "dirt sock," which will be filled with the dredge muds and must sit for at least 3 months before disposal. The sock will eat up parking on part of the grass peninsula while the fill sits.

The dredge operation is expected to last 3-4 weeks and is likely to start by mid-February. The channel will not be dredged.

I will post updates as I hear more details from Mike. They are also posting to the Lanark Boat Club's web site and getting the word out locally.

Thanks Dave. Sounds like significant repairs. Hope they stay on schedule and are running by spring. How was the fishing?

Found some, but most weren't too willing to cooperate. Water temps still in the mid-50s.

Did see three rafts of ducks, about a thousand each. That was really cool.

Yep, ramp is open, but parking is limited due a big spoil bag sitting in part of the parking lot.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!
