Nice bull shark off St George

Post by bman »

A client sent me these photos of a nice bull shark caught this week off the beach at St. George very near the Blue Parrot.
They said it measured 10 feet but looks closer to eight to me.

Looks like whoever the fisherman was they knew what they're doing. Custom shark rig and stingray for bait!

Your telling me that guy unhooking it is 8' tall?

6' (maybe 7) and I can't believe they tried to tell you it was 10'.

Water looks semi clear that's good.

Isn't a "nice" bull shark an oxymoron?

They used all the right equipment except for the tape measure he is standing on! I agree the bull is less than 7'. Nice tiger though!

Saw one yesterday that resembled the top picture. I estimated it at 7-8 feet swimming along the beach about 10 yards from shore. It sure sends the vacationers back to their beach chairs. This was about 3 miles east of the entrance to the island.

Sweeeeet. However big that shark was, I bet it was a lot of fun to reel in.

Nice tiger shark too.

That rod and reel look very familiar. I might have repaired the reel recently, but I don't recognize the anglers.

I'm headed down this weekend.
I can't show this to my wife or she'll never swim in there again.
