10/29/2017 First Deer

Post by dombern34 »

so yesterday afternoon I took my girlfriends daughter who has been begging me to take her hunting ever since bow season come in. she's 13 and has never been so I decided that yesterday would be a good afternoon to sit. my best friends dad manages a place here in south ga so we all met up out there as normal and got in the stand around 5:30. we ran off a button buck at the feeder getting in the stand lol he watched us climb up and get settled before he walked off. (wouldn't have shot him anyways) 10 minutes later he came back out and finished his supper. shortly after that the deer started pouring in. had probably 15-20 deer out there and I picked a doe that was mainly by herself for her to shoot. we did a quick 30 second run down on how to shoot the rifle and where to shoot the deer, she's never even shot a rifle before. I got her lined up and turned her loose. bam, perfect shot! deer ran maybe 20 yards and laid down! I couldn't be more proud of her! that smile says it all!!

there was 5 shooters that afternoon and we all shot one! my best friends wife shot a nice 10 point buck during this madness as well!! every deer was recovered and after wrapping this afternoon with a great supper, we dropped the deer off at the processor and went to the house. couldn't have asked for a better day!
